How to access to Vilanova i la Geltrú
Vilanova i la Geltrú can be accessed by three airports, with Barcelona BCN Airport by far the most accessible. It is 40 km to the north.
Barcelona Airport:
El Prat (BCN).
Train:
Take the Rodalies (commuter-suburban train) line R2 to El Prat de Llobregat station (5 minute journey), then change trains taking the Rodalies line R2 to Vilanova i la Geltru/Sant Vicenç de Calders (30 minute journey). Both trains leave every 30 minutes with the airport train currently running from 5:42 am to 10:38 pm. €5.20 single journey, you only need one ticket (Airport-Vilanova).
Bus:
The Monbus leaves every hour on week days(less frequent on weekends); one hour journey costs €7.20 single.
Taxi:
the airport is about 40 km away, so a taxi will cost over €80 as will a private shuttle for four people.
Car rental:
driving from the airport takes about 40 minutes using the tolled Autopista de Pau Casals C-32, and then taking the C-31 for Vilanova i la Geltrú/Tarragona.
